The SICK DME5000-111 laser distance sensor combines long-range performance with industrial-grade reliability. Designed for positioning, length measurement and crane or conveyor automation, it delivers stable distance feedback up to 70 m on a Diamond Grade reflector via an SSI interface for deterministic, noise-immune data in demanding environments.
With a visible red Class 2 laser, the DME5000 achieves ±2 mm accuracy and 0.5 mm repeatability, supported by a 1 ms update rate and 6 ms response for fast control loops. An adjustable resolution from 50 µm to 5 mm supports both fine alignment and dynamic motion up to 10 m/s. The rugged zinc die-cast housing with IP65 sealing resists dust and splash, while ambient light immunity up to 40,000 lx ensures reliable measurement. Two push-pull PNP/NPN switching outputs complement SSI, and a clear on-device display streamlines setup at 24 V DC with less than 250 mA current draw.
