The Phoenix Contact PSM-ME-RS232/RS232-P is an industrial interface converter that delivers reliable galvanic isolation for RS-232 V.24 links on the DIN rail, ensuring stable serial communication in control cabinets, machine building, and process installations.

Designed for demanding environments, the unit offers four channels RxD, TxD, RTS, CTS in full duplex and protocol-transparent operation at data rates up to 115.2 kbit/s. Galvanic isolation is implemented between VCC and both RS-232 sides and verified with a 2 kV AC test voltage, while integrated surge suppression and ESD robustness ±8 kV air and ±6 kV contact help protect connected devices. The converter operates from 19.2 to 28.8 V AC/DC with a 24 V nominal supply, provides a DTE/DCE selector, supports cable lengths up to 15 m with shielded twisted pair, and uses plug-in screw terminals for quick wiring. It meets IP20, operates from 0 to 55 °C, and complies with CE and EMC standards EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3, and EN 55011.

This compact solution isolates ground potentials, reduces interference on legacy serial links, and speeds up panel integration, making it a practical choice for OEMs and system integrators; to further support long-term reliability in the field, it is supplied with a 1-year warranty.
