The Beckhoff EP1008-0001 is a rugged EtherCAT Box for decentralized I/O, offering eight 24 V DC digital inputs in a compact, machine-mountable housing. With IP65/66/67 protection and M8 connectors, it brings cabinet-free installation to conveyors, packaging lines, robotics cells and other harsh industrial environments while keeping wiring clean and serviceable.
Designed for reliable signal acquisition, the module complies with EN 61131-2 type 1/3 and features type 3 input thresholds, a 3 ms input filter for noise-robust switching, and 500 V electrical isolation. Two shielded, A-coded M8 ports carry the EtherCAT bus, while 3-pin M8 inputs and M8 power feed-through simplify daisy-chaining on the machine. A short-circuit-proof sensor supply up to 0.5 A, a wide operating range from -25 to +60 °C, and CE, UL, ATEX and IECEx markings underline its suitability for demanding automation tasks.
