The Beckhoff EL7201 EtherCAT Terminal is a 1-channel motion interface for compact drive technology, enabling precise control of permanent magnet synchronous servomotors with resolver feedback. With an integrated servo amplifier delivering up to 2.8 A rms at 48 V DC, this 12 mm HD terminal brings high-performance motion control to the I/O level for space-constrained machines and modular equipment.

Featuring direct motor connection with feedback, a resolver input, 24 V electronics via power contacts, and a power stage of 8–48 V DC, the EL7201 provides 2.8 A rms continuous and 5.7 A peak for 1 s; with the optional ZB8610 fan cartridge, capability increases to 4.5 A rms and 9.0 A peak. Fast control loops (32 kHz current, 16 kHz PWM and speed) and distributed clocks ensure deterministic EtherCAT synchronization. An integrated 24 V/0.5 A motor brake output, 500 V isolation between E-bus and field, IP20 housing with status LEDs, CE and UL approvals, and 35 mm DIN-rail mounting streamline robust implementation.
